It’s almost new year’s eve and like so many others I have taken some time to think about the year that have gone, and what changes I may and may not want to make in the coming year.
During the first half of 2018 I spent every penny I had saving up to move abroad, and in the second half I spent all my energy trying to adapt to living in a new country. Beside, haven moved to a new country I spent all the days I had off from school traveling home to Denmark to see my family. In 2019 I want to make sure to prioritise traveling to new destinations some more.
Eat more whole foods
During 2018 I have managed to improve my diet so much in regard to eating vegan, and have gone from eating about 50-50% vegetarian and vegan to eating almost 90% vegan food. However, when it comes to eating whole foods; I honestly still don’t think more than about 40 to 50% of my diet consists of unprocessed foods, and this is something I definitely want to change in 2019.
Stop being a whining weird
I tend to think of myself as someone who aren’t afraid to try new things, and to a large extent this might be true. However, there are several things which have been on my bucket list forever, yet I haven’t gotten around to do them because I have been afraid or had too many prejudices.
I have a bad habit of wanting to do and see everything. This means signing up for more societies than I could ever possible attend, pressing ‘going’ on wayyyy to many event, and making plans with friends every single day of the week. In the new year I want to focus more energy on the things I really love, and cut down on some of my lesser activities. Quality over quantity right?
Re-visiting the same thing
You know that thing where you discover the cutest little coffee place, a great food truck or a cool art store and then you start going back there again and again because you know for sure the coffee, food, art or whatever is amazing? I do that so much. It’s of course great to have your spots, but it also means that there is so many things I’m not trying. In 2019 I want to try to never visit the same place twice if there are still places I haven’t been, but want to go.
This was one of my new year’s resolutions last year too, but since I haven’t quite cracked the whole ‘no procrastination’ thing yet, I decided to put it on here again. This not only goes for my schoolwork, but also writing my blogpost in good time, doing my exercise when I plan to do it, and keeping my fridge full and laundry basket empty!
Last but not least, in 2019, I want to be happy! Not that I wan’t happy in 2018, but because I figured it was better to just put it on here because we all need to keep happy right?
